Xango Mangosteen Health Beverage

Xango Mangosteen Juice

The Mangosteen is a fruit that grows in tropical regions all over the world but is indigenous to southeast Asia. Known as the Queen of Fruits, it has been used in herbal medicine for many centuries by different cultures around the globe. The rind or pericarp contains xanthones that are proven to be 100 times more powerful as an antioxidant than Vitamin A, C & E.

There are over 40 different xanthones in the Mangosteen fruit. Each xanthones has a different health benefit. Xango can be used to treat inflammation, arthritis, IBS, sleep disorder, mild depression, diabetes, infection, cancer just to name a few. Xanthones have over forty research papers written about them, and plenty of medical doctors use Xango as a supplement in their practice. Please see the website to hear what the doctors are saying and do your own research at www.pubmed.com.

Xango is the only company that incorporates the entire fruit into their Mangosteen juice dietary supplement. The trick is to make it taste good while maintaining the medicinal benefits of the pericarp. While the pericarp is the part that contains most of the xanthones, it is also very bitter. The other Mangosteen drinks use only an extract or just the inner fruit.

The word Xango is a combination made up of two words. The first part Xan comes from xanthones, and the go comes from Mangosteen.

Drink to better health and to more wealth.

A Look at Xanthones and Mangosteen

Friday, June 05th, 2009 | Author: admin

A Look at Xanthones and MangosteenWe’ve all heard the news for years about how important it is to get the right amount of antioxidants in order to keep our bodies healthy and ward of disease. Now there’s a new classification of antioxidants called xanthones, first discovered in the mangosteen fruit, which are poised to be one of the biggest discoveries of modern science in terms of health benefits.

While the concept of antioxidants may seem even more confusing when adding in another aspect, xanthones are fairly easy to understand, given their clear-cut, scientifically-proven benefits.

What are Xanthones?

Technically put, xanthones are a set of chemical compounds that can be synthetically produced, but are more often found and more potent in their natural settings. Xanthones are powerful antioxidants in a family of phytonutrients.

To date, researchers have discovered and classified approximately 200 xanthones, 40 of which are found in the mangosteen fruit. As a matter of fact, xanthones were first discovered when scientists began studying the health benefits of mangosteen based on its traditional indigenous medical uses.

Research into the medicinal properties of xanthones found in the mangosteen began in the 1970s, and gradually picked up pace as scientists began finding more exciting nutritional properties. Between 1996 and 2005, an exponential amount of research has been done in regards to mangosteen and its xanthones, and even more studies are in the works.

A Look at Xanthones and MangosteenXanthones in Mangosteen

To recap, xanthones are powerful antioxidants, and out of the 200 xanthones known to science, 40 of them are found in mangosteen.

But what do the antioxidant properties of the xanthones in mangosteen do for you? Antioxidants function as a balance for free radicals in the body. Free radicals are potentially harmful, yet oftentimes natural substances in your body that, when left free reign, build up and cause diseases like cancer, heart disease, and more.

The xanthones function to travel through your body, literally mopping up the free radicals on their way, leaving your body cleaner and healthier than before.

Some of the most important xanthones found in mangosteen include:

Alpha-mangostin Beta-mangostin Gamma-mangostin Garcinone Garcinone A Garcinone C Garcinone D Mangostanol Gartanin

These, among other xanthones, have been touted by independent researchers to have properties to include antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiallergic, antitumor, and antiplatelet, to name just a few.

Known Benefits of Xanthones

Scientific research has made it abundantly clear that no other fruit compares in its health benefits to mangosteen, due to its xanthones and other nutritional properties.

Helping to fight cancer is just one of the many properties that different xanthones perform. For instance, one study performed in Japan showed that the xanthone alpha-mangostin had apparent properties that suppressed the development of tumors. Another, performed in China, found the xanthone garcinone E to show significant anticancer effects in terms of liver, lung, and gastric cancer cells.

In addition, some xanthones have shown significant antimicrobial effects in terms of fighting MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), which is a bacterial strain known for its tenacious resistance to pharmacologic antibiotics. One scientific study also showed that alpha-mangostin, beta-mangostin, and garcinone B to have pronounced inhibition effects on a strain of tuberculosis.

As if that isn’t enough, xanthones have also been scientifically proven to help lower LDL, the bad cholesterol, by protecting the LDL from coming into contact with free radicals, thus leaving it unable to oxidize and attach to arterial walls and cause atherosclerosis.

Taking into account the anticancer, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, and cholesterol-lowering effects of the xanthones found in mangosteen, here is just a sampling of the other many benefits that science has either researched or is in the process of discovering:

Antiviral Helps lower blood pressure Helps fight fatigue Antidepressant Prevents stomach ulcers Aids with weight loss Antiaging Combats diarrhea Pain reducer Heart protective Analgesic Anti-parkinsonian and anti-Alzheimer Lowers fevers Builds immunity to disease Antiallergen Antifungal Antiparasitic

Indeed, even now some health practitioners are suggesting drinking mangosteen juice for relief to people who suffer from the following diseases:

Infections Skin ailments like psoriasis, seborrhea, or eczema Joint problems and arthritis Dementia Anxiety and depression Cancer Chronic pain Chronic fatigue syndrome Ulcers Diabetes

A Look at Xanthones and MangosteenThe Fruit with Xanthone Power

As time goes by, it’s becoming less and less uncanny how traditional and folk medicine seems to have a grasp on the nutritional properties of food better than modern science has in the past. Indeed, it seems in some cases, especially in that of the mangosteen, science is working to catch up.

The mangosteen fruit is believed to have originated in the Moluccas and the Sunda Islands. It’s been used for decades upon decades by people from Thailand, the Philippines, and China in folk medicine to treat dysentery, skin disorders like eczema, diarrhea and cystitis, among other ailments.

One of the reasons why mangosteen is only now gaining notoriety and popularity is because, for many years, direct importation of the fruit from other countries has been illegal, based on governmental regulations to help quarantine the Asian fruit fly. Unfortunately, the mangosteen tree doesn’t grow well in most or all climates in the United States, so attempts to grow the fruit here have been relatively unsuccessful.

However, as science has begun proving the unsurpassed medical value of the rare mangosteen fruit and its xanthones, juices and preserves are becoming more and more readily available.

In terms of taste, the mangosteen itself is considered one of the most exquisitely delicious fruits nature has to offer. Often called the “Queen of Fruits,” the taste of mangosteen is unique, but is often described as sweet and tangy with hints of pear, ripe strawberry, and grape.

After sampling mangosteen, it’s easy to see why this fruit is so popular in Thailand due to its taste. And after learning 1ff8 about the benefits of the xanthones found in mangosteen, it’s even more clear how nutritionally beneficial this amazing fruit is.

The Wonders of Thai Mangosteen

Thursday, June 04th, 2009 | Author: admin

The Wonders of Thai MangosteenWith all the many health and fitness oriented products available in the market today, it can be quite a bewildering task to pore through all of them in search for the particular one that is right for you…and that is not even taking into consideration all of the similar products that are advertised on the Internet.

While many of these products typically present claims that range from the slightly doubtful to the borderline outrageous, a number of them have actually been shown to provide some reasonably favorable results. These results have in fact been well documented by several health practitioners and medical experts from all over the world.

Take Thai Mangosteen for instance. Well known in several parts of Asia-in the southeastern region in particular-for its numerous health giving and nutritional properties, Thai Mangosteen has only recently been attracting widespread attention from the rest of the worldwide scientific community. While it would seem that other countries are a bit slow to catch on to the many health benefits of Thai Mangosteen, that situation is likely to change soon. The growing number of people who have experienced favorable results from using this almost magical fruit is a clear sign that there may be something to the Thai Mangosteen claims after all.

Even in this modern day and age, relatively a few people from the United States and Europe have even heard of Thai Mangosteen, much less experienced its health giving properties first hand. This is in sharp contrast to countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Taiwan and Malaysia, where the fruit has been enjoyed for many hundreds and even thousands of years. Part of the reason is that this fruit is almost always in scarce supply, bearing fruit only two times in the space of a year.

The Wonders of Thai MangosteenThai Mangosteen-like many other exotic fruits from this part of the world has long been utilized as a health supplement and in some cases even as a pain reliever due to its analgesic effects. What sets it apart from other fruits however, is its taste. With equal parts sweet and sour, and exquisitely creamy texture unlike any other fruit known to man, the Thai Mangosteen is truly one of the most elegant and majestic fruits around.

Aside from the pain relieving properties of Thai Mangosteen, it is also commonly used to address various ailments and health issues such as fever, low energy levels and even infections in many parts of the body. While these uses are certainly impressive enough on their own, what makes Thai Mangosteen such a crucial supplement to healthy living is its high Xanthones content.

One of the most effective and potent antioxidant known to the scientific world, Xanthones has been shown to boost the body’s immune system significantly, as well as provide a number of benefits related to the mental functions of the brain. With all the clear benefits that Thai Mangosteen can provide you in terms of health and nutrition, it just may be in your best interests to give it a closer look!

Mangosteen – Myth Or Miracle?

Thursday, June 04th, 2009 | Author: admin

Mangosteen - Myth Or Miracle? The mangosteen is a small purple colored fruit that contains several white fruit segments that have a delicious taste. The fruit is not legally available in the U.S.A. due to fresh fruit import regulations. The fruit’s rind has reportedly been used for centuries as a local folk medicine remedy. The rind was dried and a crude extract was made to treat a variety of ailments.

The purported health benefits of the fruit has not exactly been established by the western medical researchers. Researchers in Asia, however have performed decades of research on the fruit and these studies seem to show promising potential for this fruit. Right now, the western world has not conducted any significant clinical research involving humans. The general consensus is that the fruit warrants further studies to determine the potential beneficial properties. Some research abstracts have reported that the mangosteen could be used as treatments for a variety of diseases and conditions.

One current debate among people is whether the mangosteen fruit can be used as a natural dietary supplement. Products are available that incorporate the whole entire fruit – rind and all – to attempt to harness the beneficial properties of the xanthones. To date, over 40 unique xanthones have been identified in the fruit, and it is considered to be the most xanthone rich food on earth. Research is continuing to try to identify more xanthones in the fruit.

Most die-hard skeptics want actual clinical studies involving humans to see if scientific evidence can validate the use as a supplement. Others are comfortable using the product based on the research abstracts currently available. I firmly believe that human clinical studies are very near. This would seem to be the next logical step since some of the research done has shown some promising results with human diseases. If the mangosteen can provide health benefits, then those benefits come in the form of a food…a natural product that is not a drug.

Currently the interest in the mangosteen continues and some have already attempted to capitalize on cultivating the fruit. The market is there due to the taste, and the interest in the mangosteen as a naturally beneficial botanical may well keep the medical interest in this fruit alive and well.

Effects of mangosteen on RSD

Tuesday, June 02nd, 2009 | Author: admin

Effects of mangosteen on RSDIn all the studies of Mangosteen and Xantones I could not find one report on how it helps RSD! What I did find was a bunch of testimonies about how it has helped people with this debilitating disease find relief! I did find reports on inflammation and IBS along with relief to some cancers like breast cancer, colon cancer and a few others. The American cancer institute is studying the mangosteen fruit with wide eyes! This fruit has studies all the way back to the early 1800,s.

Xango was the first to market this fruit. I do have people that have RSD and they have reduced in some cases removed Pain meds from their daily routine! I would like to point out I have seen this with my own 2 eyes! To say this would cure anything would be a lie! I have no way to prove that to you. To say it helps people would be an understatement as for what I have seen it do for people!

At this point I would like to tell you a bit about me … I am Ken Boyer I have a passion for helping people. I did not get into this business to make money! I got in it to help people feel better and have a better quality of life. Heck I am not a salesman nor am I a doctor or a research type person!

I do have or should I say did have problems with my hands. You see I firmly believe that the arthritis was taking over and work was becoming more difficult! Hand movement was being cut down and the pain and swelling was too much to bare!

One day about 3 years ago I had to find out how the immune system worked I can not tell you why I just found it consuming my free time and for 3 years I did a lot of research! I found out why after the second year! I found that there are many things that will attack the immune system and A.I.D.S. is the worst of the bunch! Things like Lupus and Muscular dystrophy and R.S.D.,Arthritis, even I.B.S. can be linked to the immune system!

Effects of mangosteen on RSDMost all disease’s can be linked directly to an attack on the immune system whether you want to call it the auto Immune system or the immune system It is your automatic defense system to aid you in the fight of even colds or flue!

That was another way it has helped me the first year in many I did not take mega doses of antibiotics! But for a min let’s get back to Arthritis. Since this happened to me I got to tell you what excited me so much to write you today! My hands are back to normal! I can pull on wrenches with no pain! What a blessing! And the money I make well that is a blessing to but read on to see my heart on this matter. My intention today is not to just spit out a bunch of crap but to inform you about the mangosteen fruit.

The FdA has us say that there is no proof that any of our claims HAVE BEEN PROVEN and legally they are right and just to do so. I have no scientific proof of my own to back up what science is now studying the Mangosteen fruit is one of the best kept secrets in the world today! After all it has been around for centuries and I dare say since the beginning of time! Am I excited about this YOU BET I AM! I am seeing testimonies right and left from what this drink is doing for people. People with arthritis and IBS and a host of Lupus patients getting relief. You would be excited to if you found something that people don’t know about and then they take it and you can say wow what a change in your life!!! I am proud to say I am a Xango dist. But not for the reason you would think. The money that will be made comes as a blessing. At first you don’t make much so the driving force would not be the money it would have to be the benefits of helping people. That is what I tell everyone that either comes in as a business or as a customer.

I would run around like a chicken with my head cut off delivering to each person but there is a better way and that is to get them to auto ship the Xango to there home. I would suggest starting off with at least 5 cases! And here is why once you try the product for yourself you will find you can not keep your mouth shut about how it has helped you and each person knows about 10 people that it would help! So you show them how it has helped you and they begin to buy it first from you then through auto ship! Xango will find it’s self all over the globe!

It has already begun!

I said I was passionate about helping people and now you can see without a doubt I am telling you the truth about how it has helped me and many more like me. I would now like to help you!

Achieving Health & Wellness With Mangosteen

Monday, June 01st, 2009 | Author: admin

Achieving Health & Wellness With MangosteenWe are all trying to find ways to be healthier. Some people are deciding to exercise more, while others are watching what they eat. Either of these ways may work for some people but not for others. There is also a third group that is following both of these scenarios.

What if you were told you could drink your way to health and wellness using the Vemma (r) nutrition program. The Vemma (r) program combines the ingredients of the natural plant Mangosteen, with the benefits of aloe vera that is known to be healthy. However, health and wellness does not end there. The Vemma (r) nutrition program also includes antioxidant green tea to complete the whole formula. Using this formula it is now possible to drink yourself into health and wellness. This is an easy way to become healthier and to feel better as well.

Achieving Health & Wellness With MangosteenHowever, if you have never heard of Mangosteen, you are probably wondering what it is? Mangosteen is a plant that is found in Asian countries. It is popular because it allows people to achieve a healthy body. The plant belongs to the tree family Garcina mangostana, and it has been found to have a high amount of substances called phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are known by scientists for their ability to fight and prevent disease. Therefore, the plant will contain these phytochemicals to protect itself from any disease. However, the great thing is when humans consume these phytochemicals, they are protected as well.

Therefore, the chief function of the fruit of this tree shrub is to produce a state of health and wellness. If you are wondering what Mangosteen looks like, well it resembles a plum. It is around the size of a plum, with a purple outer skin. However, inside the fruit is a white pulp at its center. Both the outer skin and the pulp of Mangosteen contain the substances necessary to promote and achieve health and wellness.

Mangosteen Fruit For a Long Life and Healthy

Saturday, May 30th, 2009 | Author: admin

Mangosteen is a superfruit that contains a rich nutrient base along with the potential impact for lowering risk against various diseases.

Mangosteen is closely related to other edible tropical fruits such as button mangosteen and lemondrop mangosteen.

The Mangosteen fruit is typically advertised and marketed as part of an emerging category of novel functional foods sometimes called “superfruits” presumed to have a combination of 1) appealing subjective characteristics, such as taste, fragrance and visual qualities, 2) nutrient richness, 3) antioxidant strength and 4) potential impact for lowering risk against human diseases.

Mangosteen is a dark purple fruit about 2 to 3 inches in diameter, the size of a small peach or apple.

For a Long Life and Healthy Mangosteen FruitMangosteen is a fruit native of Southeast Asia.

Research shows the fruit’s assortment of vigorous phytonutrients possess high antioxidant activity supporting a healthy immune system, joint function and flexibility, intestinal health and a healthy seasonal respiratory system. Research has unearthed over forty scientific papers in which biochemically active components of the mangosteen have been rigorously examined in the laboratory. Based on the published research, my own observations and experiences, I believe the following statements to be an accurate description of the energetics of the entire mangosteen fruit.

Antioxidant strength is usually measured by the ORAC test (Oxidative Radical Absorbance Capacity), an assay developed by Brunswick Laboratories, which is thus the expert on this test. Mangosteen antioxidants: introduction A subjective index of antioxidant quality among plant foods involves color to rank a plant as “antioxidant-rich”.

Xanthones from the heartwood of Garcinia mangostana. Xanthones are also known as “adaptagens” for their unique ability to modulate and assist the body in many areas.

Mangosteen is also known as the Queen of the Fruits for its many qualities and benefits. Mangosteen is truly destined to be the all-time favorite supplement ever brought to market.

Mangosteen Tree

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 | Author: admin

How do we recognize a mangosteen tree? More than knowing how a mangosteen fruit looks like and tastes like, we should also be aware of the actual tree that produces it.

Mangosteen Tree

Although a slow-grower, the mangosteen tree is erect, attaining twenty to eighty-two feet (or six to twenty-five meters) in height. It has a crown shaped like a pyramid. Its bark is dark in color and flaking while the inner bark contains yellow, gummy, bitter latex. The short-stalked yellowish-green leaves of the tree are oval or elliptic, thick, leathery, slightly glossy, and measure three to ten inches (or nine to twenty-five centimeters) long and two to four inchesor 4.5 to ten centimeters) wide. New growing leaves are rosy.

Mangosteen flowers are fleshy. They measure 1 1/2 to 2 inches (four to five centmeters) wide. In the same tree, flowers may be either male or both male and female (hermaphrodite). The former are thick with fleshy petals, yellowish-red inside, green with red spots on the outside, in groups of three to nine, and have many stames. The hermaphrodite flowers, on the other hand, are yellowish-green, blooms individually or in pairs, and fall off easily.

Mangosteen Tree

The mangosteen tree is best cultivated in the perfect soil and climate. Efforts have been made to create mangosteen orchards. However, because of their weird development patterns and unpredictable harvest times, these trees are then mostly found along rivers banks or lakes, as their roots require constant moisture.

Mangosteen trees take many years to produce fruit after planting. The tree will take about ten years or more to start bearing fruits from the time of planting. Unlike a common tropical fruit tree, the mangosteen tree will only reach the height of ten to twenty feet in the first few years of its life. However, as a tree matures to its full growth, it can produce approximately 500 mangosteen fruits per harvest.

Besides the fruits, its young shoots and leaves are also edible and are featured as a food additive in many local Thai dishes. Besides food and ornamental uses, the cowa mangosteen tree is sometimes used as a rootstock for grafting.

Getting to Know the Mangosteen Tree

Some may have not even heard of the mangosteen but it is a fruit of a tropical evergreen tree. This tree is believed to have originated in the Sundra Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia.

Understanding Various Parts Of Mangosteen From Health Aspect

The mangosteen plant is part of Guttiferae group, a family of largely tropical trees and shrubs that secrete a kind of acrid yellow resinous juice. It is widely believed that mangosteen plant comes from the Southeast Asia region.

A Healthy Tropical Mangosteen Fruit

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 | Author: admin

Mangosteen juice is renowned for its health benefits, b ecause of the presence of xanthones. However, the true benefit of a mangosteen is its unique and delicious flavor – so skip the juice and head straight for the fruit. Mangosteen, known as ‘Queen of all fruit’, has been used for centuries by Asian health practitioners for its nutritional benefits and delicious flavor. It is known as an antioxidant-rich fruit. Mangosteen is thought to have been traditionally used by natural health providers for thousands of years. In India, for example, traditional ayurvedic doctors used the rind of Mangosteen to support a healthy digestive system. Modern day science has recently begun to appreciate the incredible, nutrient-rich value of Mangosteen and its wide-reaching, health-promoting properties. We now know, for example, that Mangosteen contains a number of vitamins and minerals in trace amounts.

A Healthy Tropical Mangosteen Fruit

Xanthones in mangosteen have proven to kill this overgrowth of bacteria to improve and restore balance in the stomach. Xanthones are one of the important ingredients in the magosteen rind that possess great medicinal properties, along with several pharmaceutical properties. Benefits to note are increasing immune system strength, helping with joint flexibility and energy levels. Xanthones are natural, safe and free of side effects. Independent researchers world-wide have published dozens and dozens of papers on mangosteen and its xanthones.

Xanthones have been studied for their medicinal potential, as they demonstrate a number of pharmaceutical properties, including supporting microbiological balance, maintaining immune system health, promoting joint flexibility, providing positive mental support, and more. Xanthones A Family of Powerful Phytonutrients While most people know about the benefits of Vitamins and Minerals, far fewer are aware of the incredibly potent power and benefits of xanthones. Xanthones are potent antioxidants comprised of molecules and atoms that possess an extra electron. These extra electrons seek out and stabilize ‘free radicals’, which are short an electron and are blamed for a myriad of health problems caused as they seek out their ‘missing’ pieces.

Interestingly enough, it is the rind of the mangosteen that contains the large number and concentration of xanthones, not the fruit itself. A list of some of the papers published on mangosteen xanthones and their use can be found by doing a search in the National Library of Medicine. The fruits have a thick rind, which encloses 5 to 7 fleshy segments, in which the seeds are embedded. The pulp has excellent flavor and is proclaimed by many as the best among tropical fruits. The fruit is the size and shape of a tangerine, with a thick, dark rind and creamy flesh. Mangosteen is marketed as a supplement, available as a juice and in capsule form.

I personally think Mangosteen juice is something that all athletes from all sports should be using on a daily basis. Actually, Mangosteen juice is for the whole family and isn’t contraindicated for any medical condition and has no side effects. It’s all natural and tastes great, unlike many other dietary supplements out there that you can barely choke down.

Why is Mangosteen so Healthy?

The mangosteen fruit grows on a tropical evergreen tree that is native to the Sundra Islands an the Moluccas of Indonesia. The tree grows very high, 80 feet or more in certain areas. The purple fruit that is produced by this tree.

Three Exotic Ingredients Discovered to Improve Immune System

A favorite choice of fruits often used is the Mangosteen. This is because of the increased risk of the Mediterranean fruit fly infestation upon its importing. This fruit is not marketed for sale in the United States. Therefore, a tropical fruit blend using combinations of these fruits is a great suggestion to enrich a healthy lifestyle. Some of the fruits can be found in processed juice or powder form, which can be added into one’s smoothie beverage.

Value of Life In Mangosteen Fruit

Thursday, April 30th, 2009 | Author: admin

Your body is a living biological organism just like any plant or other animal, all your organs, fluids and cells work as a team, if one part of the team is not at its best, your body becomes diseased and illness sets in.

Think of your body as a football team, you don’t have to know anything about football; all you need to know is that you have a home team and an opposing team. The football field is your life, from the moment of the first play, your birth, to the final goal, the end of your life. The opposing team, all the outside evading sources are attempting to cut your life short by stealing the ball and going in the opposite direction. I call this premature death due to disease or illness.

Value of Life In Mangosteen Fruit

The opposing team is made up of some really big players, free-radicals and chronic inflammation, these players never get tired and they will never give up. From the moment you are born, free-radicals enter into your very young body with your very first breath and start their attack on your cells. Free-radicals are molecules or atoms that are missing an electron, they attack any cell they come in contact with and try to steal an electron from them. Free-radicals continue their attack until they succeed, in the process they damage the healthy cells they are attacking. Free-radicals are a part of life. They are in air and water pollution, they are in the processed foods we consume, free-radicals are also caused by traumas and injuries. Another source of free-radical damage comes from the medications we take in order to recover from illnesses; this particular free-radical damage from medications is called ‘ side-effects’. There are times in our lives when we need to take medications to combat a serious illness, but we must keep in mind that we have to boost our immune system during the time we are on these needed medications. This will minimize the side effect damage and aid in our long term recovery. Every time you breathe, fresh free-radicals are entering your body and start playing for the opposing team. The next opposing team member is chronic inflammation; scientists are calling this player a silent killer.

Our bodies are amazing organisms; if it senses an injury or illness it sends in a home team member, called inflammation, to aid in the defense of our body and help restore the area that is damaged. This is where the game gets a little complicated; free-radicals cheat, they don’t just damage a cell when they steal an electron, they actually mutate the cell or deform it, the damaged cell then becomes another free-radical; when the home teams healthy inflammation tries to go in and protect the now unhealthy cell that the body senses as damaged, the unhealthy cell turns on the inflammation and attacks it stealing an electron. Now the once healthy inflammation cells become mutated or deformed themselves and become chronic inflammation attacking healthy tissues inside our bodies. Boy oh boy, this starts a whole chain of continuing events. But remember this; the football game has two teams playing on the field.

You have to breathe everyday in order to live; now you know that every time you take a breath free-radicals are entering into your body and doing damage. You can however win the game if you take in large amounts of anti-oxidants to refresh your team players. Anti-oxidants are your really big players; they are molecules or atoms that have an extra electron that they will give to a free-radical. When this happens the free-radical no longer plays on the opposing team, instead it begins to play for you. This is what I call building your team forces, your team force is your immune system. Your team works together but your immune system is your coach, if your immune system is strong it can send in the needed players at the right time to fight any invaders that your body may encounter. But you have to feed your immune system; it requires necessary minerals and vitamins as well as large doses of anti-oxidants everyday. If you starve your immune system of the required nutrients, then the players on the field do not get the reinforcements they need to win. Most people start taking multi-vitamins when they get older, but parents should start their children on multi-vitamins as soon as possible and teach their children about nutrition starting at a very young age. People as young as 20 years of age are being diagnosed with diabetes in this country due to their poor eating habits. This is a very scary trend that is taking place. Many 30 year olds have heart disease also due to their poor eating habits, ‘hardening of their arteries’. Scary!

What did you eat today? You are breathing in polluted air as you are reading this article, what type of defense did you provide your immune system with today? I hope you took your vitamins and minerals; did you eat any fresh fruits, or fresh vegetables? What about your children?

Most plants contain about 1,000 to 1,500 anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals also contain large numbers of anti-oxidants. Vitamin C and E contain the largest amount of anti-oxidants. You can take as much vitamin C as you want without harming your body, but vitamin E has a recommended dosage per day, take much more and you can cause yourself problems, do not exceed any recommended dosage for your weight. Fish also have high numbers of anti-oxidants, try putting that into your diet a few times a week. Now think about this, you can destroy the anti-oxidants in your food through your cooking habits. Do not microwave your vegetables or fish, either steam or broil; do not cover in fats and fry. Foods are delicate and you can destroy any health benefits through any improper preparation. Foods are also biological organisms just like you. Now if you are like me and have a tendency to burn things, then do what I did and invest in a juicer and juice your vegetables and fruits, juice your way to healthier living. The amazing thing about juicing, there are so many combinations you can get your kids to drink their vegetables by adding sweet fruits to the mix. Wow!
Value of Life In Mangosteen Fruit

Now let’s look at the numbers, because of our ignorance, we as a population of people, have caused serious pollution problems on this amazing planet we live on. So we end up taking in roughly one billion free-radicals per day, in the form of pollutants. Let’s see how many anti-oxidants we can take in; if we have one whole grape fruit and two eggs and one piece of toast for breakfast, and let us not forget our multi-vitamin, we will take in about 3,600 snack we have a banana and a glass of milk that’s about, let’s be generous, anti-oxidants. For a1,800 anti-oxidants. Lunch we have fish with steamed spinach and one cup of whole grain rice, that’s about 4,000 anti-oxidants. Dinner comes and we do very well and have a nice cut of steaksteamed broccoli with red onions and mushrooms, we now add a yam to that meal and we take in 9,500 anti-oxidants. For the day we did not do very well at all, only 18,900 anti-oxidants. We are losing the football game and we thought we were winning. What can we do? You can drink a lot more fruits and vegetables, by juicing them instead of trying to eat them, and you will not lose the anti-oxidants in these life saving foods.

There is also a newly discovered fruit from South East Asia called the Mangosteen Fruit. The mangosteen fruit has be used in South East Asia for centuries for all types of aliments. To date there is a significant range of known traditional uses such as; anti-diarrheal, anti-inflammatory, pain control, treatment of infections, fever control, gastro intestinal problems, skin rashes and burns, headaches, anti-parasitic, musculo-skeletal and joint problems, control of blood sugar and diabetes, infections – viral, bacterial and fungal, as well as mouth ulcers, prevention of atherosclerosis, dementia, anxiety and depression, cancer and anti-aging concerns, and there are many, many more. The list of health benefits continues to grow as more clinical studies and scientific research is done on this fruit.

For the last 20 years independent universities and scientists have been doing studies on the mangosteen fruit, they wanted to understand why the people of South East Asia did not suffer with the same diseases that we experience in this country. The serious diseases that are killers here in America are barley seen in South East Asia. As the scientists were beginning to study this particular fruit they found out it has the ability to help with disease control. A chemical compound called xanthones was discovered inside the skin of this fruit in record numbers, another amazing thing was the record number of anti-oxidants found in this fruit. The mangosteen fruit contains the highest number of anti-oxidants ever found in one food source, an unbelievable 25,000 per fruit. Wow!

In nature xanthones are very restricted in their occurrence, what I mean is look at the Aloe Vera plant, it contains only one xanthone, yet it is used for medicinal purposes in a variety of ways. When the news came out about how good the Aloe Vera was for burns and skin problems, people began to grow Aloe Vera in their yards and break pieces off when ever they had a skin problem. Over 200 hundred xanthones have been identified in nature to date and 41 of those are in the mangosteen fruit alone, that’s almost a full 25% of all the xanthones that are known.

Value of Life In Mangosteen FruitWhat can xanthones do for you? Xanthones are a new class of chemical compounds with biologically active plant phenols. Xanthones are a unique, biologically active group of molecules with a six-carbon ring; this structure makes the xanthone very stable and also allows it to be extremely versatile. Each xanthone has a unique chemical formula that permits the xanthone to perform a specific biological function when consumed. Xanthones are so stable that they can defeat more than one free-radical at a time and render it harmless while still performing a biological function. Xanthones show several beneficial properties such as, anti-inflammatory, anti-tuberculosis, anti-tumor, anti-platelet stickiness and anti-convulsive. Scientific studies are making it evident that xanthones are responsible for a wide range of medicinal benefits experienced by people using this juice. The mangosteen fruit is a food, not a drug, and therefore dose not have the inherent dangers associated with medications. The thousands of people now drinking mangosteen fruit juice for medicinal reasons are reporting positive beneficial effects on their conditions. The and some mangosteen fruit has three components, the skin or pericarp, the fleshy fruit and the seeds, all of the components have the powerful xanthones and anti-oxidants, but the majority are in the skin or pericarp. One thing you should know is xanthones must be consumed in their natural form. The mangosteen fruit juice is the whole fruit ground up in order to make a juice out of it; nothing is wasted, so you receive the full benefit from this amazing fruit.

By changing your diet to a healthier menu and adding mangosteen fruit juice, you will enhance your team players by supporting your immune system so they can defend your body against the outside invaders.

You will have a wonderful quality of life!
