The Mangosteen is a fruit that grows in tropical regions all over the world but is indigenous to southeast Asia. Known as the Queen of Fruits, it has been used in herbal medicine for many centuries by different cultures around the globe. The rind or pericarp contains xanthones that are proven to be 100 times more powerful as an antioxidant than Vitamin A, C & E.
There are over 40 different xanthones in the Mangosteen fruit. Each xanthones has a different health benefit. Xango can be used to treat inflammation, arthritis, IBS, sleep disorder, mild depression, diabetes, infection, cancer just to name a few. Xanthones have over forty research papers written about them, and plenty of medical doctors use Xango as a supplement in their practice. Please see the website to hear what the doctors are saying and do your own research at www.pubmed.com.
Xango is the only company that incorporates the entire fruit into their Mangosteen juice dietary supplement. The trick is to make it taste good while maintaining the medicinal benefits of the pericarp. While the pericarp is the part that contains most of the xanthones, it is also very bitter. The other Mangosteen drinks use only an extract or just the inner fruit.
The word Xango is a combination made up of two words. The first part Xan comes from xanthones, and the go comes from Mangosteen.

Alzheimer’s Disease is a brain disorder that destroys a person’s memory and ability to learn on a gradual basis. It also affects and can destroy that person’s ability to make critical judgments, reason, and carry out normal daily functions. As Alzheimer’s disease advances, a person may also experience changes in their personality. They may start to exhibit anxiety and depression, agitation, delusions and hallucinations.
There are over 5 million people in the United States alone that suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. This includes 4.9 million people who are over the age of 65. It is estimated that about 500,000 people under the age of 65 also suffer from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but there are new treatments used that can accelerate deep insight into the biology of the disease. Effective treatment and care along with loving support from family and friends can also improve the quality of life for people who are affected with the disease.
Some people who are in the early or middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease can be prescribed medication such as Cognex. This medication can help alleviate some symptoms. Aricept and Exelon may keep some of the symptoms from becoming worse for a short period of time. Another drug, Namenda, was approved just recently in the United States. It combines memantine with some of the other Alzheimer’s drugs and thereby making them much more effective than any one single therapy. There are also a variety of other medications that can help control behavioral problems such as agitation, wandering, anxiety and depression.
The cause of Alzheimer’s is unknown, although many scientists believe that the disease beings with the build up of beta amyloid protein in the brain. Others believe that there may be a genetic risk that causes the disease. It is thought that if you have a parent or sibling with the disease that your chances of having the disease are increased.
Interestingly, a higher standard of education has been associated as protection against Alzheimer’s disease. Smaller brains lead to fewer connections within the brain, and this can also be a cause of Alzheimer’s disease. This has not been officially established, though. Another thought is that the disease is caused by high levels of aluminum, again with no conclusive proof.
Interestingly, a fruit known as mangosteen has been providing a variety of health benefits for many centuries. Scientific tests seem to point to the powerful compounds in mangosteen as helping to alleviate the inflammatory processes in the brain’s structural cells.
These breakthrough studies show that mangosteen can actually help with the associated inflammatory conditions of the brain when it comes to Alzheimer’s disease.
Improvement in function of the brain from using mangosteen has been seen in an allopathic doctor’s patients, who were already being treated with the traditional Alzheimer’s drugs. This is really remarkable because most of the drugs that are being used in treatment of the disease are not able to increase any function in the patients. The only thing that they can even hope to do is to slow down the progression of the disease. Although, there is still much research needed, this study on mangosteen is definitely a huge step forward.

Mangosteen, or Garcina mangostana, is a tropical fruit of the size of an apple. It has a thick rind and hard seeds and is grown in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The fruit is rich in vitamins such as B1 and B2 and contains minerals like potassium and iron. However, the standout feature of this fruit is the presence of a high concentration of antioxidants and xanthones.
Mangosteen has been used for centuries in the traditional Chinese and ayurvedic medicine systems prevalent in South-east Asia as a remedy for skin and gum diseases, parasites, wounds, burns, as an anti-depressant, cure for fatigue and fevers, etc.
The health benefits of this fruit are available in the form of mangosteen juice which is sold by health stores and is available online as well. One well-known brand of mangosteen juice is Xango.
The rind, seeds, and the flesh are used to prepare the juice, which is credited with having anti-aging, anti-allergen, and antibiotic properties. The key to the health giving properties of mangosteen juice is xanthones. They serve an important purpose by fighting free radicals. Free radicals seek to attain atomic stability by acquiring an electron from the cells in the human body; thereby, causing irreversible oxidation of the cells. Xanthones have an antioxidant effect and they counter the deleterious effects of free radicals thus protecting biological cells.
The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) test shows that mangosteen juice is 20-30 times more effective than other fruits and vegetables in absorbing free radicals.
Xanthones offer benefits such as
· Supporting microbiological balance
· Promoting cell growth
· Regulating cholesterol
· Boosting the immune system
· Promoting suppleness of joints
· Fighting mental fatigue
· Controlling the actions of histamines
· Anti-carcinogenic agent
· Fungicide and bactericide
The xanthones contained in mangosteen are strongly anti-carcinogenic and according to a recent study, Garcinone E, which is a xanthone, is useful in cases of cancers of the stomach, lungs, and liver. Mangosteen juice, which contains all the goodness of xanthone, is found to be efficacious in the treatment of asthma, arthritis, fibromyalgia, mouth ulcers, problems of the gastro-intestinal tract, etc. Of the more than 200 known xanthones that are found in the plant kingdom, more than 40 are found in mangosteen.
Mangosteen is a fruit of the tropical climes and is not readily available everywhere; mangosteen juice is an equally effective alternative that is readily available and is packed with the goodness of xanthones. The recommended daily dosage is 1-3 ounces. Mangosteen juice as sold by brands such as Xango may contain some additional ingredients like sodium benzoate and citric acid as well as additional juices of fruits such as pears, apples, grapes, and cranberries in order to counter the bitterness of the pericarp of mangosteen, which is used in the final product.
Xango, which was the first mangosteen juice brand, is popular with users who consume this beverage regularly and attest to its health giving properties. Xango can be taken with other foods that have antioxidant properties, such as broccoli and spinach.

Since being a distributor within Xango™ for the past 11 months, I have been confronted with many questions. “What are the ingredients in your mangosteen juice?” “How can I get your mangosteen juice cheaper than $25.00?” or “How much money are you making at this time in Xango?”
The biggest question someone has ever asked me while explaining that Xango™ is a booming network marketing opportunity was, “Is Xango™ a Real Business?” After I explained to that person how many distributors I have at this time and how much money I make as a independent distributor of Xango™, they still asked if it was real.
I know that all of us have seen a lot of things that for whatever reason, have helped people, and have stopped people from reaching their goals but Xango™ is the business that is not only going to help you reach it but help you keep it.
Well, instead of me giving you an easy answer, I’m going to let you do your due diligence and find out for yourself if this is a Real Business.
Below, you’ll find some convincing quotes taken from Fortune® magazine. Then, you’ll read a small piece from a government web site intended to educate people about the difference between network marketing and a pyramid scheme. Knowing this information will help you understand that network marketing is a big business.
Listen and study the information carefully. If you are ready to change your financial situation you have be a creative thinker and watch these business trends very carefully.
Corporate America Welcomes Direct Sales
In a recent issue of Fortune® magazine (the one with Bill Gates on the cover) you’ll find an interesting article focusing on the sputtering economy, and the independent contractors (distributors) who are reenergizing the U.S. retail industry through the art of direct selling.
Here are a few key paragraphs that are particularly interesting:
“Call it the age of direct selling. With its emphasis on personal, one-on-one relationships between distributor and consumer, convenience, and a high degree of consumer education, the industry may be tailor-made for today’s consumer—and company.”
“The result: The industry, with U.S. sales of $28.7 billion in 2002, up 7.5% from the year before, has become a magnet for both corporate behemoths lured by its efficiencies and dozens of entrepreneurs attracted by the lower cost of market entry…”
“Last year, for example, Warren Buffett’s biggest purchase was The Pampered Chef…Hallmark’s Binney and Smith is launching its own direct-selling company, called Big Yellow Box by Crayola…”
“Most direct-selling businesses now employ a multilevel system, in which distributors earn money on their own sales in addition to those of people they recruit (called the ‘downline’) and individuals brought in by their personal recruits. That’s different from the single-level approach, in which you only make money on your own sales. In 1990, about 20% of the Direct Selling Association members in the U.S. used the multilevel plan; today, it’s about 80%…”
”I saw…something that I could do with my sons,’ said Russ Widger Sr., a former manufacturing company owner…’I thought, with this business, they could do in about 10 years or less what had taken me more than 20 years with conventional business. The key was that they could start building a long-term residual income.’
“‘[Direct sales] provided me with financial security that I would not have achieved if I had continued working a regular job, ‘ claimed Meg Kelly-Smith, a (former) banking executive. ‘I compressed an entire career’s worth of earnings into about five or six years.”
“A growing number of distributors are placing orders through their company’s web site instead of using the usual faxes or snail-mail orders. Distributors are using…web sites for help in recruitment and training…and as a channel for customer reordering.
“In 1990, Lisa Wilbur was laid off from her $15,000-a-year secretarial job, living in a 12- by 70-foot trailer with her husband, and trying her best to stave off creditors. Then she decided to sign on with Avon. Over the past ten years she’s made more than $1.4 million in bonuses…not every representative makes nearly that much money- or wants to. Many reps…get into the business with the intention of working part-time or even, say, earning a little extra cash around the holidays.
“Although today’s economic times offer a variety of challenges, solutions are available for those individuals willing to seek them out. With direct selling companies providing alternate avenues for income generation, more and more people are able to give their current jobs the pink slip.”

XANGO™ IS A LEGIT BUSINESS AFTER ALL!
Now that you see how corporate America is quickly embracing the methods and strategies of network marketing (direct selling), it’s important for many people to make the separation between a legitimate marketing strategy used by companies releasing legitimate products, and illegal pyramid schemes that scam innocent people.
I know every single one of us has heard someone say this line: “Oh, one of those pyramid things.” It couldn’t be further from the truth in XanGo’s case.
To quote a government web site (Division of Consumer Protection):
Xango™ is a Multi-level marketing company and it is different from pyramid schemes because it is a legitimate business opportunity. This company holds the sale of a legitimate product and that is what distinguishes multi-level marketing operations from pyramids. Pyramid schemes want to make money from you, not the product sales.
“Pyramid Scheme vs. Multi-level Marketing
> Compensation based on recruiting vs. Compensation based on sales
> Few or no sales to consumers vs. Sell legitimate products to established markets
> Substantial start-up costs vs. Generally small start-up fee
> Potential to be stuck with large amounts of unsold goods vs. Will buy back unsold goods if you decide to quit the business
> Make money from you vs. Make money with you
It’s wonderful to know that Xango™ meets every criteria for being a legitimate marketing company.
Our CEO, Gary Hollister, is the former chairman of the board of the Direct Sellers Association, the organization that establishes the ethics in which companies introduce the product into the market.
Never before has a network marketing company launched with the number of seasoned corporate management executives as XanGo™.
Every member of the team has been in the field as top-level distributors and/or in top-level management with BIG network marketing companies doing hundreds and billions in sales. What more could you ask for from a team of network marketers.
This management team is taking XanGo where they have already gone before.
They have come together to create what I believe will be THE NEXT BILLION DOLLAR GIANT.
Let’s put XanGo’s growth into perspective. The previous fastest-growing health supplement was Noni, with current global sales of over $400,000,000 a year.
In its’ first day, XanGo™ sold more product than Noni sold in it’s entire first month. During the first two months of business, XanGo™ sold more Mangosteen Juice than Noni did in it’s entire first year.
This is a company positioned for greatness. The economic climate, and the popular shift to home-based work through Xango™ has given you the chance of a lifetime to jump in on the ground floor of a soon to be a household name.
If you haven’t caught the vision already, I don’t know what else I can tell you. You’ve seen the science behind the mangosteen, we have proof that the executives of this company know exactly what they are doing, and in a coming email I’ll show you how your own FREE web site system is already set up for global growth and distribution (we’re now in 9 countries).

A number of are looking into the natural health group for arthritis remedies. One specific area that is getting much attention from researchers is supplements based on glucosamine chondroitin. They are being extensively examined by many who are interested in finding new treatments and an arthritis remedy.
While Glucosamine chondroitin is not an arthritis remedy specifically, it is proving to be a useful anti-inflammatory. This explains why a number of arthritis patients are deciding to supplement their diets with this combination supplement.
Glucosamine may cause stomach irritation in some users. One answer to this is to obtain time release capsules. This will shield your stomach from a powerful dose of glucosamine in one short burst. We’ve all heard the news for years about how important it is to get the right amount of antioxidants in order to keep our bodies healthy and ward of disease. Now there’s a new classification of antioxidants called xanthones, first discovered in the mangosteen fruit, which are poised to be one of the biggest discoveries of modern science in terms of health benefits.
While the concept of antioxidants may seem even more confusing when adding in another aspect, xanthones are fairly easy to understand, given their clear-cut, scientifically-proven benefits.
What are Xanthones?
Technically put, xanthones are a set of chemical compounds that can be synthetically produced, but are more often found and more potent in their natural settings. Xanthones are powerful antioxidants in a family of phytonutrients.
To date, researchers have discovered and classified approximately 200 xanthones, 40 of which are found in the mangosteen fruit. As a matter of fact, xanthones were first discovered when scientists began studying the health benefits of mangosteen based on its traditional indigenous medical uses.
Research into the medicinal properties of xanthones found in the mangosteen began in the 1970s, and gradually picked up pace as scientists began finding more exciting nutritional properties. Between 1996 and 2005, an exponential amount of research has been done in regards to mangosteen and its xanthones, and even more studies are in the works.
Xanthones in Mangosteen
To recap, xanthones are powerful antioxidants, and out of the 200 xanthones known to science, 40 of them are found in mangosteen.
But what do the antioxidant properties of the xanthones in mangosteen do for you? Antioxidants function as a balance for free radicals in the body. Free radicals are potentially harmful, yet oftentimes natural substances in your body that, when left free reign, build up and cause diseases like cancer, heart disease, and more.
The xanthones function to travel through your body, literally mopping up the free radicals on their way, leaving your body cleaner and healthier than before.
Some of the most important xanthones found in mangosteen include:
Alpha-mangostin Beta-mangostin Gamma-mangostin Garcinone Garcinone A Garcinone C Garcinone D Mangostanol Gartanin
These, among other xanthones, have been touted by independent researchers to have properties to include antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiallergic, antitumor, and antiplatelet, to name just a few.
Known Benefits of Xanthones
Scientific research has made it abundantly clear that no other fruit compares in its health benefits to mangosteen, due to its xanthones and other nutritional properties.
Helping to fight cancer is just one of the many properties that different xanthones perform. For instance, one study performed in Japan showed that the xanthone alpha-mangostin had apparent properties that suppressed the development of tumors. Another, performed in China, found the xanthone garcinone E to show significant anticancer effects in terms of liver, lung, and gastric cancer cells.
In addition, some xanthones have shown significant antimicrobial effects in terms of fighting MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), which is a bacterial strain known for its tenacious resistance to pharmacologic antibiotics. One scientific study also showed that alpha-mangostin, beta-mangostin, and garcinone B to have pronounced inhibition effects on a strain of tuberculosis.
As if that isn’t enough, xanthones have also been scientifically proven to help lower LDL, the bad cholesterol, by protecting the LDL from coming into contact with free radicals, thus leaving it unable to oxidize and attach to arterial walls and cause atherosclerosis.
Taking into account the anticancer, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, and cholesterol-lowering effects of the xanthones found in mangosteen, here is just a sampling of the other many benefits that science has either researched or is in the process of discovering:
Antiviral Helps lower blood pressure Helps fight fatigue Antidepressant Prevents stomach ulcers Aids with weight loss Antiaging Combats diarrhea Pain reducer Heart protective Analgesic Anti-parkinsonian and anti-Alzheimer Lowers fevers Builds immunity to disease Antiallergen Antifungal Antiparasitic
Indeed, even now some health practitioners are suggesting drinking mangosteen juice for relief to people who suffer from the following diseases:
Infections Skin ailments like psoriasis, seborrhea, or eczema Joint problems and arthritis Dementia Anxiety and depression Cancer Chronic pain Chronic fatigue syndrome Ulcers Diabetes
The Fruit with Xanthone Power
As time goes by, it’s becoming less and less uncanny how traditional and folk medicine seems to have a grasp on the nutritional properties of food better than modern science has in the past. Indeed, it seems in some cases, especially in that of the mangosteen, science is working to catch up.
The mangosteen fruit is believed to have originated in the Moluccas and the Sunda Islands. It’s been used for decades upon decades by people from Thailand, the Philippines, and China in folk medicine to treat dysentery, skin disorders like eczema, diarrhea and cystitis, among other ailments.
One of the reasons why mangosteen is only now gaining notoriety and popularity is because, for many years, direct importation of the fruit from other countries has been illegal, based on governmental regulations to help quarantine the Asian fruit fly. Unfortunately, the mangosteen tree doesn’t grow well in most or all climates in the United States, so attempts to grow the fruit here have been relatively unsuccessful.
However, as science has begun proving the unsurpassed medical value of the rare mangosteen fruit and its xanthones, juices and preserves are becoming more and more readily available.
In terms of taste, the mangosteen itself is considered one of the most exquisitely delicious fruits nature has to offer. Often called the “Queen of Fruits,” the taste of mangosteen is unique, but is often described as sweet and tangy with hints of pear, ripe strawberry, and grape.
After sampling mangosteen, it’s easy to see why this fruit is so popular in Thailand due to its taste. And after learning 1ff8 about the benefits of the xanthones found in mangosteen, it’s even more clear how nutritionally beneficial this amazing fruit is.

The mangosteen is a small purple colored fruit that contains several white fruit segments that have a delicious taste. The fruit is not legally available in the U.S.A. due to fresh fruit import regulations. The fruit’s rind has reportedly been used for centuries as a local folk medicine remedy. The rind was dried and a crude extract was made to treat a variety of ailments.
The purported health benefits of the fruit has not exactly been established by the western medical researchers. Researchers in Asia, however have performed decades of research on the fruit and these studies seem to show promising potential for this fruit. Right now, the western world has not conducted any significant clinical research involving humans. The general consensus is that the fruit warrants further studies to determine the potential beneficial properties. Some research abstracts have reported that the mangosteen could be used as treatments for a variety of diseases and conditions.
One current debate among people is whether the mangosteen fruit can be used as a natural dietary supplement. Products are available that incorporate the whole entire fruit – rind and all – to attempt to harness the beneficial properties of the xanthones. To date, over 40 unique xanthones have been identified in the fruit, and it is considered to be the most xanthone rich food on earth. Research is continuing to try to identify more xanthones in the fruit.
Most die-hard skeptics want actual clinical studies involving humans to see if scientific evidence can validate the use as a supplement. Others are comfortable using the product based on the research abstracts currently available. I firmly believe that human clinical studies are very near. This would seem to be the next logical step since some of the research done has shown some promising results with human diseases. If the mangosteen can provide health benefits, then those benefits come in the form of a food…a natural product that is not a drug.
Currently the interest in the mangosteen continues and some have already attempted to capitalize on cultivating the fruit. The market is there due to the taste, and the interest in the mangosteen as a naturally beneficial botanical may well keep the medical interest in this fruit alive and well.
